Donor comments: Mr. Bond advises that the tumbler was mentioned in the book, "Gold Hunter", and is presumed to have belonged to Dolly Madison. Mr. Bond's grandfather, Judge H. G. Bond, bought the tumbler at auction in 1988, Philidelphia. 2. Two letters to Marshall Bond, Jr., from Philip K. Crowe, American Ambassador to Norway. one dated Oct. 7, 1970, and one dated Oct. 21, 1970.
